NEW Fishing: (1) Fishing in North-East Wisconsin; (2) New fishing methods for popular NE WI Fish; (3) Fishing for Carp (the World's Most Popular Fish) in NE WI.
Welcome to my North-East WI Fishing Blogsite. Here you'll find articles on NEW fishing methods for this part of WI (e.g. Float & Fly for Trout, Steelhead & Salmon, Finesse Pan & Smallmouth fishing, European Row-Trolling methods, etc.).
I will also be publishing articles on Carpfishing (the most popular fish in the rest of the world) as a catch-and-release sport. Until recently, Carp have had a bad press in this area (they've been the scapegoat of pollution and poor land management practices wiping out US native fish species); but they grow big, they can be tricky to catch, and they fight hard!
Lastly, I'll be using this webspace to talk about catch & release fishing for all NE WI fish. That doesn't mean that I'm against harvesting and eating fish; I like a good meal of perch or bluegill as much as the next man! I'm just looking to the future, and trying to make my fishing a sustainable practice for those who come after me.
Please enjoy the site, and tell me what you want to see here. And if you meet me out fishing, say Hi and ask me any questions you want answered, I'll do my best to put you on big fish. Tight Lines!
I've been described as "The Mad Englishman" and the "Crappie Hound"; but I would describe myself as someone who just wants to have fun catching big, hard-fighting fish. I'm also very happy to share my knowledge (unlike some of the old "river rats" I meet!); I like to help others catch big fish too. My one request to other anglers is to have fun catching the big fish, but look after them, take a quick photo and release them carefully, so that they can put a big smile on the next angler's face!
